FIKA & FLORA
Scandinavian Baked Goods & Flowers
ABOUT ME
Fika
[fee-ka] noun-Swedish
A moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life.
A coffee break with friends, family or colleagues.
Time to pause, reflect and savor the moment.

The Swedish side is from my mother who was born in Gotheburg, Sweden. She migrated to the United States when she was young, then later met my dad who is from Norway. Connected countries meeting in America.
They raised six kids (I am the third) and embedded in us our heritage, foods, celebrations, customs, songs, folklores and futbol (soccer).

I raised one hardworking, kindhearted and beautiful daughter, Linnea (name is a Swedish Flower) with the help of my husband, Roberto and my family.

Throughout my life I've discovered how much I love creating everything by hand. It runs in the family from sewing, construction, shoe making, lefsa making, knitting, embroidery, baking and gardening. Gardening mostly from my Mormor (grandma) and mom. The garden is a place of peace, beauty, and Fika time.

I started in fashion design and am now in gardening. I appreciate living in happiness which is why I fell in love with gardening. It was very therapeutic and fulfilling for me. One thing led to another and I opened a mini garden stand to share all the joy flowers bring. The flowers created their own following from there. However, I don't only offer flowers. I love to bake and share my baked goods along with my flowers, hence the name Fika and Flora. Who doesn't love Scandinavian baked goods? I mostly bake what I remember from my childhood. Rolls, cookies, and cakes with a modern twist.

This online store is an easier way for my customers to be able to connect and communicate. You can see all the baked goods and floral items and services I offer here.
